Our Background….

The Chicago Sharks SC were formed in April 2011 to provide youths in the Near South Side of Chicago an advanced soccer education in a local competitive club academy. Having partnered with the highly successful AYSO 1516 soccer program, the club have fast established a unique project that offers soccer to boys and girls from the ages of 2 years through to 16 years under the instruction of British and American coaches from Matt Miller Soccer (“MMS”).

Our Vision….

Our aim is to implement the passion, the fundamentals and the skill sets of British Soccer and merge this with America’s emphasis on athleticism and healthy competition, to drive the growth of the sport here in the near south side of Chicago.  The Sharks focus on player development combines modern training methods and provides a unique and invigorating environment to nurture talent, passion and focus.  We constantly challenge our players to perform towards their highest potential in both practice sessions and games and expose them to the best possible soccer education and coaching philosophies that stresses individual skill and creativity within a strong sense of teamwork and collective goals. Here, players will gain knowledge of the technical, tactical, physical and psychological components of the game in what will expedite their development on all scales.

Program Information

6 Programs (5 youth & 1 Adult)

Chicago Sharks offer 6 levels of instruction and competition based on age, skill and commitment:

1)  Chicago Sharks Toddlers (2 – 3 years)

The Toddlers is about play, fun and making friends. This age specific program is an introduction to soccer, based around a fun-filled environment of games and scrimmaging.. The curriculum is set for the players, coaches and parents alike and will create a memorable soccer experience for everyone involved. The toddlers will leave having experienced a fun soccer setting and looking forward to graduating to either the Near South Soccer AYSO and/or Chicago Sharks Youth program.

2) Chicago Sharks Youth Development Program (YDP) (4 – 8 years)
An entry level program for players 4-8 years wishing to have training with experienced coaches however not ready yet for competitive academy games. The program will deliver hands on soccer skills training by our experienced coaches for its entirety on a weekly basis. A great opportunity to improve your techniques and graduate to the Chicago Sharks Academy.

3) Chicago Sharks Academy / Soccer Club (Under 8 – Under 14 years)
Our year-round program for the committed player wishing to play competitive club team soccer and looking to achieve success at the highest levels in soccer.  A skills development program, dedicated to improving the player with our access to quality coaching and year-round competition in the NISL and IWSL leagues.

4) Chicago Sharks Camps (4 – 16 years)
Spring, Summer and Winter soccer camps offering a fun-filled week-long camp with emphasis on educational training for improving their soccer skill-set during the off-season. Available to players from the ages of 4 –16 years. Players are assigned into groups according to their age. Each day will focus on one main soccer skill, such as control, dribbling, shooting or passing and concluded with world cup scrimmaging at the end of the week.

5) Chicago Sharks Youth Clinics (2 – 16 years)
Our ‘off-season’ Summer and Winter clinics delivers hands on soccer skills training by our Chicago Sharks Academy coaches. It is a great opportunity to keep active, continue your development while of course improving your skills. All sessions are that of the curriculum of the Chicago Sharks Center of Excellence teaching and all new players will have the chance to try out for the YDP & ACADEMY programs for the succeeding season.

6) Chicago Sharks Adult Recreation (Player Parents League – 18 years+) …..coming soon!
Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall recreational soccer for all Sharks & AYSO player parents. The Chicago Sharks will be available to all adults of all ages and aimed at all the parents who wish to play pick up in a competitive yet fun filled setting.
